Why I Review Indie Thrillers

I’m passionate about championing indie thriller and crime fiction authors. Thoughtful, honest reviews help readers discover new voices — and they help authors grow their visibility and confidence.

As part of my commitment to the community, I share reviews on my platforms through Review Monday, my weekly spotlight on indie talent. From time to time, I also feature selected books as Recommended Reads in my newsletter, giving them an extra boost to my engaged reader community.

If you’d like your book considered for a future review, you’re in the right place.

How My Review Process Works

I choose books based on a few simple criteria:

  • The story appeals to me

  • It fits my niche (thriller, crime, suspense)

  • It aligns with what my audience enjoys

  • I have space for it in my reading schedule

I’m happy to consider submissions from all indie thriller and crime authors.

 

However, I do prioritise books that are also available on Revvue, as the platform supports a fair, balanced review ecosystem and helps indie authors uplift one another. Reviewing through Revvue also allows me to earn coins that I can use to request reviews for my own books — so we all benefit.

 

If you’re on Revvue, I’ll use the details you provide in the form to locate your book within the platform and review it there, while still sharing my review across my other platforms.

 

If you’re not on Revvue, that’s absolutely fine — you’re still very welcome to submit your book. And if you’d like to join the platform, you can use my link. It’s free, and it helps strengthen the indie community.

My Review Policy

I always aim to support indie authors with honest, constructive, and respectful reviews. To keep Review Monday a positive space for readers and writers, I follow this policy:

​

  • If I DNF a book

  • If I don’t enjoy it

  • Or if I feel I can’t genuinely give it 3 stars or above

 

…then I won’t publish a public review.

Instead, I’ll contact you privately to let you know I’ve read it and explain why I’m unable to review it publicly.

This keeps the process fair, transparent, and supportive for everyone.
